At the Met

My work conveys the spark felt when entering the Metropolitan Museum of Art, studying the behaviors its interior space elicits from visitors and the energy they bring to it. Influenced by the hand-painted animations of Claudia Briton, I transform motionless paintings into short animated experiences that portray the magic of a simple museum visit. Painted interiors and hand-drawn visitors remain stagnant until combined, relying on each other to recreate the fleeting, intimate, and sometimes intrusive nature of experience. From an elevated vantage point, the viewer discovers moments the characters themselves may never notice, treasuring what would otherwise be overlooked.
